Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

Common questions about insurance, evaluations, medication, and what to expect. If yours isn't here — please reach out.

I.

Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network practice. Superbills are provided so you can submit for reimbursement through your PPO plan. We're happy to walk you through what your specific plan typically covers.
II.

What is a psychiatric evaluation?

A structured assessment that helps us understand your symptoms, medical and family history, current stressors, and goals. It's the foundation we build a treatment plan on — and we take the time to get it right.
III.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes — when clinically appropriate and as part of a personalized care plan. Medication is one tool among several, and we approach it thoughtfully, with careful titration and consistent follow-up.
IV.

How long are appointments?

Initial evaluations are typically 45–60 minutes. Follow-up sessions vary based on your treatment plan, generally 30–50 minutes. We don't rush.
V.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes — telehealth is available throughout California. The clinical depth of care is the same as in-person, in a setting that fits your week. In-person appointments are at our Woodland Hills office.
VI.

What if I'm not sure what I need?

That's okay — and common. Reach out. We can do a brief consultation call, talk through what you're navigating, and figure out together whether Vera is the right fit, or help point you toward someone who is.
VII.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. Your sessions are private and protected under HIPAA. We'll walk you through the specifics — and the few rare exceptions to confidentiality required by law — at our first meeting.
